History: At least two meaty paragraphs
Sirius Aiden Black was born to Orion and Walburga Black on May 13, 1960 at 11:15 AM. His family lived for traditions; kids sorted into Slytherin House upon arrival at Hogwarts, hanging the heads of deceased House Elves on a plaque on the wall, and passing on their beliefs and lifestyle on to their kids. For the first seven years, Sirius fit perfectly into the Black family mold. He never played with children whose blood was less than pure, he never dirtied his dress robes, and he spoke with an air of arrogance.
Growing up, Sirius spent a lot of time in the company of his older cousin, Andromeda. She taught him about a different side of the world; a good world, very different from what his parents taught him. At seven years old, Sirius began to doubt the teachings of his family. He stood by her as she was persecuted and then disowned by the family when she married a muggle-born, Ted Tonks. Even though Sirius was forbidden from speaking to her any more, he still counted her among his favorite family members.
He was also very close to his brother during the early years, but they started to drift apart when Sirius began to doubt his parents. His relationship with Regulus wasn't the same after that. He was distant with Sirius, and started to back his parents up when they felt the need to lash out at Sirius for whatever reasons.
His relationship with his parents has always been strained. He was a very hyper child, especially in the very early years and tended to get in a lot of trouble. After his relationship with his brother weakened, Sirius spent a lot of time alone, in his room, dreaming of motorcycles, women in bikini's and freedom, up until the summer before his fifth year. Something within Sirius finally snapped one evening after a pretty nasty physical fight with his father and Sirius took off in the middle of the night, showing up on the doorstep of the Potter's house, bloody and beaten. He spent the remainder of the summer with James and his family, as well as the summer follwing his fifth and sixth years. Just shortly before Christmas of his seventh year, Sirius inherited a large sum of money from his uncle. He quickly decided that he was going to use that money to buy a small house. Just after graduation, he found one in Manchester, which he quickly bought and moved into.
When Lily was killed, the morning of her wedding, Sirius did his best to stand by James as he grieved. When the Ministry was overtaken, Sirius was one of the first ones to join to help with James and Dumbledore's quest to find muggleborn children before Lord Voldemort did. He also took quite the liking to his youngest cousin, Nymphadora, and on more than one occasion referred to her as his protegee. He took it upon himself to teach her the art of dueling, telling her that the day she beat him in a duel was the day that her training would be over. It took her quite a while, but she finally managed to do it.
That's when Sirius realized his potential. He decided that he would help train the Rebel kids to fight, making sure that they had a way to defend themselves. It was a pivotal moment in Sirius's life, because it calmed him down a lot. He bonded with the kids, and it made him realize that he wants a family of his own one day.
Personality: At least two meaty paragraphs Sirius Black is first and foremost a charmer. If he could do nothing else in life, he'd be happy to know that he can at least charm the ladies. Lucky for him, though, that isn' the case. He grew up in a very priveldiged home, and got anything and everything he ever wanted (except for maybe his father's love). When he was younger, during the first, oh probably two months of school, Sirius was very bitter, sarcastic, and down right rude. Unfortunately, the sarcastic and rude parts haven't really gone away much, though he does know when not to be rude ... most of the time. He tends to come off as a bit of an ass, until you really delve into the "deepness" that is Sirius.
Secondly, Sirius is a joker. He absolutely loves to take people by surprise, frighten the hell out of them, it really doesn't matter as long as he can see the look of absolute shock on their faces. Pranking people was probably his favorite part of being a Marauder in school, aside from his comraderie with James, Remus and Peter.
Thirdly, Sirius is a slacker, which makes no sense at times due to how incredibly hyper he is. He probably would have flunked his classes in school, not because of lack of intelligence, but because of lack of motivation to actually do anything. It was usually only at Remus' begging that he actually did any of his homework, and he usually had to give it to Remus for safekeeping to make sure it was actually turned in.
He's also fiercely loyal to his friends, and the Rebels. If ever there was a man who would lay his life down for his comrades, it's Sirius. James and Remus are the brothers he never had (even though he technically has a brother, his family disowned him at the age of fifteen so he doesn't count it much).
While fun-loving, charming, very loyal, and exceedingly hyper, there is a darker side to Sirius. He's quick tempered, and very quick to judge people, mostly based on their house affiliation in school. Also, he's not one to let go of grudges easily.

In Character Examples
Please provided links to your first journal entry (for THIS character) and provide a third person ('threading') response to one of the three following prompts:
1. It's Christmas Eve, and your character has just learned that something very negative/positive has just happened. 2. Your character has had a song stuck in their head for two days now and are getting very, very annoyed by it all. 3. The alarm clock rings at two hours before it usually does, on a Sunday morning.
[A/N: Events described herein are for the purpose of the samples only, and by no means are they expected to be incorporated in Absit Omen's canon.]
First Person Prompt Three
I'm going to kill whoever reset my alarm. Seriously. I have a couple people in mind that could have done it, and if I find out it was either of you ... well, lets just say you'll have to watch your back for a while. Be afraid of the shadows, because I will hunt you down and make you pay, in horrible horrible ways.
Honestly, here I am snoozing away at four o'clock in the morning, on a Sunday no less, having a perfectly pleasant dream, and my alarm goes off. Two hours ahead of the time I always have it set for, so now I've been up since four A.M. with nothing to do, and an extremely bad attitude that does nothing for my good looks.
Third Person Prompt Two
"Do you come from a land down under? Where women glow and men plunder? Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder? You better run, you better take cover."
Sirius' eyes narrowed as the lyrics echoed through his head, again. For two days he'd listened to those annoying lyrics. For two days, he'd suffered, trying everything he could think of to rid himself of that annoying 80's American tune. All it had taken was about five seconds of hearing it on the radio to get it stuck in his head, and he'd been miserable ever since.
Pushing himself up off the couch, Sirius made his way over to his stereo, which was surrounded by posters of motorcycles, and girls in bikini's plastered on the wall. He turned it on, turned it up loud, and was instantly satisfied when his eardrums were assaulted by the awesome tones of The Clash, one of his favorite bands from the Muggle world. Finally, all was right. For a moment.
The Clash faded out, and Sirius was happy. For the first time in two days, he couldn't hear that annoying music. He finally let himself relax, taking a moment for the mental silence to kick in. Just when he thought it was safe, though, the radio came on with its next set of songs.
"Traveling in a fried-out combie. On a hippie trail, head full of zombie. I met a strange lady, she made me nervous. She took me in and gave me breakfast."
Sirius groaned. Was this song ever going to leave him alone?
How would you like to see this character grow in-game? What are your plans with them, and why this character?
I'd really like the chance to play out the darker side of Sirius. I've always played him while he was in school, carefree and happy. I know that there's a darker side to him, a side that he keeps hidden from everyone, and I believe that this game is the perfect chance, and the perfect premise, to explore that.
I chose Sirius because he's probably one of my favorite characters in the entire series. He had a hard childhood, growing up with different views than his parents, being disowned, etc... And I've always found it a joy to play him.
